Hasty Freez in Albany

Ice cream is good. The wait in the drive thru line is way too long.

Unfortunately wasn’t a way of contacting the owners to say this but figured everyone should know about this too. Went last week, was surprised to see every employee not wearing a mask or gloves when dealing with any of the food. We watched someone accept cash, prepare food without washing their hands, and then came to take our order. Wasn’t super impressed.

This is a great Burger and Shake place that has withstood the test of time. Granted, it's not as good as the one in Lebanon (long since closed) but it's still pretty damn good and cheap. I make it a point to come here anytime I need to go to downtown Albany. Pretty simple menu with great value. Good stuff!

Always has amazing food and service. Takes time but the employees are always so welcoming :)

This is great that this place still is running. Food like the old days and slushy floats just like you know you want. There is no indoor seating and there is always a line in the drive thru but all that means is that it's good and fresh!!

I highly recommend anyone who is hungry partake of the shake box with the bacon king burger. You just can't go wrong with that combination. If you have a sweet tooth the caramel shake is outstanding. My husband's wears by the Oreo shake and I still think there's nothing like blackberry in the summertime.

Great ice cream. Wish they had a speedy line for just ice cream and separated cooked food to the other side. Wait times are only issue (though walking up helps. Sometimes you don't want to)

The food and ice cream are always fresh, made to order and delicious. Along with one of the best prices for the food, they are a mom and pop place. If you haven't tried it, this is a must.

It's your standard mom'n pop, small-town ice cream hut. Great prices, good customer service, and always delicious icecream. Personally, I do away with the straw and slurp the icecream goodness. It's a great stop for after a night out with friends, or a long walk with the family. A fun little treat.

Very busy but fast service and very nice staff

I had a wonderful time at this spot. We enjoyed the superb ambience and the food. The waiters were super welcoming. I am happy we eventually managed to visit this spot.

I have contacted Harrison in regards to multiple orders being messed up. I told him we are long time customers of at least once a week coming from out of town. Also told him we want to support them through these economic times. Was responding with they are very busy. Basically they aren't concerned with losing my business they will just educate their cooks and I will keep my money. Orders made wrong or bad quality, items missing and when returning to business was given attitude and saying that wasn't want I ordered even though I order the exact order every time same amount each time. No receipt to prove purchase so they don't give you what you paid for. Paid cash so can't even dispute with bank? Loyalty means nothing when they don't need your business?

My kids and I love this place as a special treat in Albany. It has a retro vibe and one that reminds me of the south for some reason. Every order is made fresh. Fries are piping hot. Crinkle cut, some have that airy translucent grease-saturated quality (always good to have a few like that!). The burger is fresh with that classic American cheese. Sauce is awesome and I usually dislike any mayo-based sauces. It actually tastes more like a cheese sauce? Kids love the swirled flavor soft serve. Best of all they have the shaved ice. What is better than a cold drink with that smooth ice you can crunch afterwards? Yes, it is a burger shack, so it's not fine dining so come with the right expectations!

It was okay. I ate there based on reviews., the fries we're hot, fresh and good. Burger average and caramel shake was yummy. Fast service. The server was really friendly and helpful as I stated I'd never been there before

The wait was a little long, but the ice cream is good and the fries are the best!

They ran out of lettuce and didn't bother telling customer's that they had done so so all burger's went out the window without knowing this , not good business

If you're looking for the best greasy old era Burger you can't do any better than a Hasty Freez burger, just the name in itself tells you you're in for a real treat and don't forget to pick up one of those delicious milkshakes they are the bomb!

The place is probably great but wished they worked faster. I literally sat for 30 minutes waiting to get through and had to leave because of my baby.

Good food,great prices. Their fry sauce is the best! The customer service is always awesome and the wait time is short from the time you order till the food is ready.

Good food. Friendly staff, although felt a little rushed, since first visit and had no clue of menu items or prices and had trouble seeing it in its location of inside on back wall.

Holy cow, waited over an hour with 4 cars in front of us. Nothing is worth waiting that long for? What's the deal with that place. Jesus I could go to the grocery store and come back to my house and cook a better burger. Sure wish someone could explain what the deal is there.

I can’t even begin to explain the quality of this family owned restaurant. The cheese in the burgers are so melty and soothing my taste buds scream, “Thank you for feeding me this delicious treat”. I will continue to come here as long as I’m alive. I know the wait is suppperrrr lonngggg buuutttttt, it’s not coming out of the warmer and the meals are always fresh!

Visited Hasty Freeze for a quick bite to eat while searching for homes. Ordered the Chicken Strips and was wow'd with the flavor of the breading and very tender and juicy chicken inside. The BBQ sauce, yup you need to have it. As a matter of fact, ask for extra! Tried the bacon cheeseburger on another cost and well.. We are hooked! Amazing small town quality food, great locals service and the price is just right. No overpriced fast food franchise prices here. Get in there and get some and let's not forget about the fries! You gotta try it! Good grub.

I almost didn't stop today after a previous visit with a terrible burger.Today's burger was exceptionally good. I don't know what may have happened on the previous visit but I'm pleased this time.

Need more employees I was waiting in the drive up line do 40 mins was on a call with my grandma when I rolled up in a line that was being neglected by 2 people that was not hurrying just walking calmly and only serving the walk ups and I had not even was able to put in my order but good shakes but bad service then another 15 min then I was able to get my order and can't even drink it until it melts.

Really good and inexpensive desserts! The only downfall is it's fairly popular late in the evening so be prepared to wait for a bit. Haven't tried their hot food but I'm sure I'll be back soon!

Last time they were sneaking boys in the back, while I was waiting 40 minutes and still left before being even second in line after starting 4th in line. This time waited 40 minutes after only being 3rd in line. I guess an improvement. Food is always good but don’t make up for you service
